This excerpt was taken from the book of Durnag the Druid, burnt at the stake for writing of Dark Magics and Forbidden History.
"It is believed that during the time that Nether-Men were sealed in the Nether and that their long transformation into Blazes began, that some proved to have gained a foothold of themselves. Their minds had survived the transformation, but their bodies had become scarred and disfigured. They chose to hide themselves in between the folds of cloth, and called themselves the Rafu'In. Meaning the Hunters in the early Blazick language native to the Nether.
"Seeking for a culprit for what had happened to them, they looked unto those alongside themselves. They were determined to kill all those who they were determined had brought them to the Nether, the Blazes, now so far from their regular form that they could be killed with no remorse. They wandered in the Endless Wastelands, seeking out those who had succumbed to the changes, slaughtering them and tossing their bodies wherever it seemed fit."
"It was once said that the Rafu'In were good, and wanted to go back to the Overworld. But each time they killed more of the Blazes, they only became more self-centered and blood-thirsty. Through many generations and horrible acts of brutality, the Rafu'In had become native to the Nether. Concentrating on killing anything they could. They hid behind their cloaks, shrouded from the glowing light of the magma."
"Their swords shone with the souls of the creatures they had taken, and their eyes gleamed with the pleasure of seeing the world burn. In this powerful but corruptible form, Deploro reached out to them, promising them bounty and all the killing they would desire, only if they would take care of an object."
Drunag the Druid finishes his short legend there. It is believed that the object he talked about was the Vesseil Orb, briefly mentioned in the Chapters of Osgriand the Great
